A little about me
Howdy y’all. I’m Julie, a/k/a Jules and I am, of course, from Texas.
So, I graduated from high school when I was 17 years old. I was actually the youngest in my Senior class. I went straight into Paralegal school and graduated a year later. I have been a paralegal ever since then. 27 years to be exact. I have worked at numerous firms; big, small, corporate. I can’t tell you what my favorite kind of firm to work for is, they all had their perks, but I can tell you I loved family law. I guess I enjoyed helping people. Now, I work for a personal injury firm which is what I’ve done for most of my 27 years of experience. My employer now is a well-known attorney in several cities in Texas and I really enjoy working there.
So for fun, I love to do crafts (all kinds), scrapbook, hunt white tail deer, saltwater fish and go on cruises. I also like to pretend I’m good at organizing. Honestly, my dream job would be to become a professional organizer, if I could start a new career (maybe when I retire). I have tons of books on how to organize and I pretty much buy every organizing product out there.
What drew me to product reviews?
So why did I want to start a blog at 46? I’m really not sure why. I guess I thought it would be interesting and fun at the same time. I’m always trying to think of ways to fill up my time since my kiddos are grown. I just hope I can be successful at blogging.
My husband, Lynn, and I have been married for almost 10 years. I’m also the mom of two boys; well, I guess men now. Austin is 22 and Andrew is 19. I also have three step-children, Kristen is 29, Zachary is 23 and Cole is 19. Oh, and I can’t forget about my four legged babies; all four are dachshunds, Layla is 12, Gunnie is 7, Millie is 2 and Ruger is 1. I also have one Calico cat named Calie (original, right?).
I can’t believe I’m already 46 years old. When I was young, my parents used to say time flies when your’re older. I didn’t believe them. When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait to be 13, then 16, then 18, then 21. It seemed like an eternity before I hit each of those milestones. Now it seems I blink and a year has gone by. It was just a few years ago my boys were 2 and 4. Boy, do I wish I could go back to 13. I would savor every minute.
